These are the lines in the vanilla options.txt, maybe you can spot yourself why it goes wrong. I am able to add the key modifier back myself though. I found out that with one particular mod, it removed the key modifier after installing your mod. What is your experience with home row mods? Do you mind the delay? or do you create system for layers and mods without home row mods even on ~36 keyboards?ĮDIT: found older discussion about the same topic Īnd someone in that discussion pointed to alternative to home row mods called callum mods Hi Nice mod, I've chosen this one for my 1.16.5 pack because the key modifiers do work. ![]() It grew on me and after reading this article called "Typing with pleasure" about the importance of low latency for our visual feedback when typing, I decided to remove the home row mods. Moonlander allows me to configure how big this delay is, but the shorter it is, the more difficult it is to type properly bc you need to hit and leave the key so much faster. So there is no way around it and it is inherent to home row mods. In this mod, you can change the duration between two musics in the mod config. AFAIK this delay is necessary so the firmware can distinguish between pressing the key or modifier. For example when I press "c" it is instant, but when I press "s" there is small delay about 200 ms. I got used to it ok, the ergonomics is fine, however what I started to dislike is the latency on modded keys. Understanding the seven modes of music requires a basic understanding of intervals and musical notation. The mode of music used for a piece can be determined by looking at the musical notation on the sheet. It feels absolutely fantastic, and I dont want to go back :) However because I use more layers (some for diacritics with my special characters in my native non english language) so I ended using home row mods for CTRL, SHFT, ALT, GUI buttons. Modern music theorists now call these modes Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Aeolian and Locrian. Hi there, as an experiment I created 36 keys layout (3x5 + thumbs) on my Moonlander and physically removed all other keys. ![]()
